This preparation is targeted to overcome and eliminate the troubles with erection. Its main constituent is Sildenafil.

Revatio resolves the problems with erection. It restores impaired erectile problems and provides a natural response to sexual stimulation. Nitric oxide (NO) provides and firms erection, and this medicine releases NO to secure the blood inflow, consequently stabilizing and gaining normal sexual functions.

Recommendations for use

The drug is taken orally. The advised dosing is 3 times / day with an interval of about 6-8 hours, regardless of the meal. The maximal recommended dosing is 60 mg.

For elderly examinees (≥65 years old) the dosing correction is not required.

For examinees with impaired renal function dosing correction is not required, but if there happens poor tolerability of the preparation, the dosing must be reduced to 20 mg 2 times / day.

Adverse effects

During the curing, there have been indicated the following undesired effects:

  • Insomnia.
  • Headache.
  • Visual disturbances.
  • Blurred vision.
  • Cough.

  • Diarrhea.

  • Fever.

Overdose

In case of overdosing there should be carried out a standard symptomatic therapy.

During pregnancy and lactation, the usage of the preparation is not advised. Today, there are not conducted adequate and sufficiently well-controlled studies of the preparation in pregnant women.

It is not known if the medicine passes into breast milk. Since a large number of drugs excreted in breast milk, caution is necessary while using the medicine during lactation.

At any rate, the curing in both periods is not likely as the number of tests for adverse effect is not enough and well-studied.

Cautions when Taking

Before the start of drug therapy to diagnose erectile dysfunction and the reasons why it has occurred, it is necessary to collect history and conduct a physical examination. Before the treatment of erectile dysfunction is necessary to assess the risk of cardiovascular complications resulting from sexual activity.

Sildenafil causes mild reversible reduction in blood pressure. Before using the preparation, there should be eliminated the risk of adverse effects from blood pressure reduction, especially against sexual activity. Patients with obstruction of the left ventricle (including aortic stenosis, GOKMP) or with a rare syndrome of multiple atrophy of impaired regulation of blood pressure are most susceptible to the hypotensive effects of vasodilators. Most undesired effects from the CCC develops in people with previous heart disease or blood vessels. Most often, these complications occur either immediately after sexual intercourse, or shortly thereafter. In some cases, these effects occur after using the preparation without intercourse. A causal relationship between these effects and the described factors has not been established. Doses greater than 200 mg do not increase efficiency, but enhance the frequency and severity of dose-related side effects.
